Hyperborei Montes

HYPERBOREI MONTES [RHIPAEX MONTES.]

Originally the mythical name of an imaginary range of mountains in the north of the earth. It was afterwards applied by the geographers to various chains; as, for example, the Caucasus, the Rhipaei Montes, and others.
